Hasbean Cupping comes to Coffee Aroma
Coffee Aroma are proud to host a Coffee Cupping Evening with our fabulous roasters Hasbean. If you dont know what coffee cupping is then keep reading! Cupping is a way of evaluating and contrasting the qualities of different coffees. Approximately eight coffees will be prepared from around the World. Each coffee will be brewed using the infusion method and placed in a small bowel (cup) which are then lined up along the bar for you to taste. The barista will ensure the surface is clear of grinds at which point slurping, using your cupping spoon (tasting the coffee) can begin. Saturday Night Free Jazz
Wendy Kirkland is a UK-based jazz pianist, Hammond organ player and singer who has been a regular on the UK jazz scene for more than 10 years. Wendy's natural phrasing, light pianistic touch and melodic lines are combined with a high level of ability at sight reading of written scores and chord charts, as well as the innate ability to pick up melody and harmony by ear. In addition, Wendy sings and accompanies herself on piano and Hammond organ. Her influences include Shirley Horn, Diana Krall, Carol Welsman, Blossom Dearie and Nat King Cole. Switching to jazz in her late teens, Wendy continued her playing career as a dance class pianist, accompanist to singers and as a keyboardist in club bands. After being persuaded to sing by a great friend and guitarist, Bill McCreath, Wendy learned to reach people who are perhaps turned off by instrumental jazz, and also she learnt to communicate with the audience through the songs. Wendy's voice has been likened to Blossom Dearie with hints of Diana Krall. Wendy formed a piano and Hammond organ trio with Pat Sprakes on double bass/guitar. The trio has played UK jazz festivals as well as venues throughout the UK and Europe. In 2010, Wendy became part of the Jet Collective, an East Midlands group of jazz musicians devoted to composing and performing original music. Two of Britain's Finest Young Guitar Players
Jim Ghedi : Highly respected Solo Finger-style guitarist Jim Ghedi after years of experimentation and travelling around Europe has returned with a focused and signature sound. Exploring finger-style experimental Guitar composition, with a wide repertoire of influences ranging from african music, jazz and eastern european folklore he has crafted his style of playing working heavily in rhythmic phrasing as well as melodic & harmonic experimentation.
Having an impressive history of both collaboration and supported work for such acts as James Blackshaw, Richard Dawson, Dead Rat Orchestra, Cam Deas, C Joynes, Stephanie Hladowski, Alasdair Roberts, Alex nelsons Death Shanties, The Big eyes family players and Trembling bells.
He releases his album Home is where i exist, now to live & die with Cambrian Records later this year, material inspired by his time spent living in Brussels & returning to reconnect with home.
Toby Hay : A guitarist and composer from near Rhayader in Mid Wales. He makes instrumental music inspired by the landscape, people and history of the area. Following in the footsteps of the American Primitive guitarists like John Fahey and Robbie Basho, and the British Folk revivalists like John Renbourne and Bert Jansch, he composes music for the 6 and 12 string guitar.
His music has been supported by radio stations across the UK, Amercia and Australia, and he has performed across Britain, playing Swn Festival, Machynlenth Comedy Festival and Greenman Festival, as well as supporting artists like Ryley Walker, Songhoy Blues and Marika Hackman.
Influenced by Indian Ragas, African Kora music and ancient Welsh harp music from the Robert ap Huw manuscript he makes music to capture the atmosphere of the special and under represented part of Wales where he lives, adding to the long tradition of Welsh string music.

We are excited to announce Rebecca will be joining us again for an al fresco evening of beautiful music Rebecca is influenced by the Soul singers such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington as well as finding inspiration in such musicians as Amy Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys Frontman Alex Turner Rebecca is a singer songwriter from Lincoln who started writing and playing music back in December 2010. Free Live Music @ Coffee Aroma - The Shakes
Featuring ex members of The Cellar Doors and Midnight High, The Shakes came together over a mutual love of The Shivers and Keith Zarriello. The Shakes are guitarist and lead vocalist Jace Weaver, and harmony vocalist, Stefanie-Kate. With a blend of 2 part harmony and acoustic/folk guitar, The Shakes regularly perform their take on old cowboy songs, in and around Lincoln. Betty is hosting the Coffee Aroma's 'Stitch n Bitch' Sewing Club evening in the Attic event! Its a great opportunity for sewers, knitters, embroiderers, crocheters and crafters alike to come together, either to learn something new, get advice or continue with your own current projects! Everyone is advised to bring their own materials but Betty will be happy to lend a needle or thread to anyone that just wants to have a go and see if they can do a simple line of sewing! Rebecca Vaughan @ Coffee Aroma
Rebecca Vaughan is influenced by the Soul singers such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington as well as finding inspiration in such musicians as Amy Winehouse and Arctic Monkeys Frontman Alex Turner Rebecca is a singer songwriter from Lincoln who started writing and playing music back in December 2010. Rebecca has since released two EP's; 'I Talk Too Much' and 'Maybe This Time'. Rebecca is currently working towards her third release for late 2015.7:30pm - 11:00pm Saturday 4th July 2015

What is PechaKucha? The art of concise presentations. PechaKucha Night, now in over 800 cities, was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images. The Warbirds, a Lincolnshire Indie Rock band formed in 2011. "Creating inspiring music born of hope, fear, love and change." Their influences include artists such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams and The National. The Warbirds have played locally and nationally to great acclaim and have been featured artists on BBC Introducing and Co-Op Artist of the Week. We have the following facilities and technology
- Projector screen in the main room
- Stand and boundary microphones in the main room which feed into the sound system to allow events in the main room to be listened to in the bar and/or attic
- The two cameras in the main room can be displayed on the 42in TV in the bar allowing events in the main room to be viewed in the bar
- Sound levels can be individually controlled in each area.

- Spotify plays in the attic
- During intervals Spotify plays on all floors & bar TV reverts to slideshow

Our Lactose Free Milk is made from regular cows’ milk which is filtered to remove half the lactose, the sugars naturally found in milk. An enzyme is then added to the milk to break down the remaining milk sugars which your body can easily absorb. As nothing else is added or removed, what you get is the nutritional benefits and great taste of regular milk just without the lactose.
